Abstract
The effect of autoclaving of diet and dietary lpid~2:p% tallow ar 2.5% soybean-oil of total diet)on the blood lipid and cholesterol levels was studied in male Sprague-Dawley rats.
72 rats were assigned to a 2¡¿3 factorial experiment with autoclaving and dietary lipid for a period of 4 weeks and 20 weeks.
In 4 weeks experiment periods, autoclaving for 30 min. at 121¡É increased adrenals weight and reduced triglyceride and phospholipid levels of plasma compared with non-autoclaving (p$lt;0.05).
In 20 weeks experiment periods, blood urea nitrogen level was increased in rats fed autoclaving diet, but phospholipid decreased. Dietary lipid was observed significantly different spleen weight and triglyceride contents of plasma. Kidneys weight of rats fed tallow were slightly decreased by autoclaving, while soybean-oil group increased(p$lt;0.05).
Flowever, the levels of ¥â-lipoprotein, total cholesterol and eholesteryl ester of tallow group were increased, but soybean-oil group vice versa(p$lt;0, 05 ).
Results from this study indicated that dietary Lipid was affected effectively spleen weight and blood lipid. The autoclaving of diet was shown significant difference kidney function and blood lipid levels due to lipid source of diet.
